“If someone struck a match on the Moon, they could spot the flare.”
Is this really true?
But if you think about it, theres no oxygen on the moon, or in space, so how could you light a match?
Fire, or flame, needs oxygen to burn, so is this a true statement?
This is an interesting statement. It really just states that astronomers can see things really far away, though with this metaphor or whatever, its not true in the slightest. You could say instead, they can see the man on the moon, the flag on the moon, or Neil Armstrongs footprint on the moon, but why the match?
